The idea of W.I.P aDDa

In Bengali, and across the cultures that shaped Delhi’s layered life, adda is a way of being with others: the long afternoon that becomes an evening, the argument that turns into a friendship, the cup of chai that turns into a script, a song, a movement.

W.I.P aDDa is built around that idea - a physical space in Lado Sarai that exists first as a place for artists to be with other artists. To talk, debate, collaborate, sit in comfortable silence, share a meal, a failure, a discovery.

aDDa insists on the value of process - the unfinished, the in-progress, the experimental, the uncommercial.

We want people to talk to each other - not perform, not network, not pitch. We want the sound designer to overhear the choreographer and wonder if there’s something there; the first-year student beside the twenty-year practitioner, both learning something. India’s creative economy is deeply siloed. W.I.P aDDa is a deliberate attempt to break those silos through proximity.
